In the year 2004, Academy Award winning Director Mel Gibson (Braveheart) stunned the World with his extraordinarily violent depiction of the last hours of the life of Jesus Christ. The movie had a huge impact worldwide, both culturally and on an emotional level. Although it universally divided the critics, with some claiming that the extreme violence in the movie “obscures its message”.

I myself had a very profound experience watching the movie and I quote “I’m a different person from what I was before watching this movie”. Specially because, in my case, there were a coupla nuns sitting in the row in front of me, who wept thru the whole thing. It connected with people all over the world on many different levels, because of the brutal display of the Passion of Jesus who is considered, by believers, to have undergone all that agony to take mankind’s sins away and faced his destiny without any sign of fear, even after knowing what was about to befall him. Here’s a buncha clips that take us thru the arduous journey that the Cast and Crew went thru to bring the directors vision alive on the big screen, specially actor Jim caveizal, who played the role of the savior, to perfection.
