288695-visit-film-and-television-institute-of-india_711642About FTII : FTII established as ‘Film Institute of India’ in 1960 on the erstwhile Prabhat Studio premises at Pune. The Institute was renamed ‘The Film and Television Institute of India’ in 1971.

The Institute has come a long way from its humble beginnings. Today, the FTII is commonly regarded as a center of excellence across the world. Films made by the students of the Institute have enjoyed excellent receptions in festivals in India and abroad and have gone on to win National and International awards.  The alumni of the FTII have left an indelible imprint across all facets of Indian Cinema and television and have built an excellent reputation in its allied industries.

The FTII is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India. Guest speakers from the film, television, and media industries frequently visit FTII to share their knowledge and experience with FTII students. Filmmaking demands the integration of many kinds of knowledge. It is the integration of knowledge that distinguishes the FTII from many other film schools.
